Living rent in london is about £400 – £450 per month. For food, if you cook at home about £40 – £60 a week. Eating out is about £10-15 per meal. But its common to cook at home. Most cooked meals are italian such as pasta or pizza. and of course curry.

If you are living outside london, it is about the same in eating costs, but the rent is about £250-£300.

Remember to ask for grants. There are overseas student grants/bursary. if you are interested, visit the local british embassy to see if there are grants. or you can check their website.
Check the school fees. Its quite different from uni to uni. The last time i saw, its about ~£8000 per year for foreign students. Tips: Students in UK are allowed to work for 20 hours per week. and most uni students work here to cover their expenditure and get experience.

The best thing to study in UK is you get to travel alot. I mean ALOT! .. not only locally to scotland / ireland but also to Europe.
